What is ReplayChess?
ReplayChess is a chess platform built around a simple but compelling idea: instead of only reading about the great games of chess history, you step into them and play. Choose a legendary player — Morphy, Fischer, Kasparov, Carlsen and more than 50 others — and jump into one of their famous games at its critical position. From there, you try to find the moves they actually found.
You can play the position out against a friend through a private link, against a matched opponent, or against Stockfish running directly in your browser. When the game ends, ReplayChess gives you a move-by-move comparison: your match rate against the original continuation and the exact move where your path diverged. It also includes an openings encyclopedia of 3,600+ ECO-coded positions to play from, rating-based matchmaking, and tournaments. It installs as a PWA, is free to play with no ads, and is open source under MIT. A Player plan is available at $4.99/month.
